Arkansas CNA II Training
The prerequisite for the CNA II training program in Norwest Arkansas Community College is to pass AHSC 1213 or have a current CNA state certification
Arkansas CNA II students will learn more advanced skills, based on what you learned in AHSC 1213. Some of the skills you will learn include: checking blood sugars, cardiac monitoring, and caring for post-op patients. The class is the same as C.N.A., lecture and lab 2 or days a week. Clinical is in a hospital setting in addition to the lecture/lab during the week. Clinical is 3-4 eight hour days. Upon completion of the advanced CNA course you will have become CPR certified and receive your PCA certificate of training.
North Arkansas offers an advanced training program for Certified Nursing Assistants which is a 40 hour Restorative Nursing Assistant Course.
Restorative Nursing Assistants in Arkansas are CNA’s who have advanced specialized training. The CNA’s are responsible for Identifying, assessing and setting up restorative programs. Such as:
- Restorative Dining Programs
- Bathing, dressing and grooming programs
- Wheelchair mobility programs
- Bowel and Bladder Programs
The Arkansas restorative nursing assistant works with residents to help them maintain or regain their highest level of independence and function.
