The overall objective of the Florida cna license is the provision of quality services to residents in long-term care facilities by nurse aides who are able to form a relationship, communicate and provide care competently with the residents.

In most clinical settings, nurse aides will work under the direction of a registered nurse and be responsible for the personal care of residents or patients. Because certified nursing assistants in Florida will work directly with residents, often times other staff members will depend on you for observations and reports.

To obtain CNA jobs in Florida individuals needs to understand the meaning of being a team player. The necessary skills of a well-trained certified nursing assistant are valued in a wide multitude of facilities.  Nurse aide students who attend CNA classes in Florida in will be required to abide by specific policies for the program.

Individuals, first-time and those re-certifying, must pass the Florida  CNA Exam which is a 2 part examination, consisting of a written and a performance (skills) section.

The Florida written test is a two-hour test with fifty (50) multiple-choice questions written in English. Either an Oral or Spanish Test may be requested for the Written Test if you have difficulty reading English and you must ask for it when you submit your application.

The Manual Skills Evaluation requires the candidate to perform five randomly selected nurse aide skills. Once a student passes both parts of the exam successfully they will receive their CNA certification in Florida.

If candidates take the exam without completing a formal classes in Florida and fail either the written or practical portion without later passing the failed section within 2 years, or fail the same part of the test more than three times within 2 years, certification applicants must complete a 120 hour state approved CNA Classes before being allowed to re-take the exam.
