In order to enroll in a training program in New York, Students are first required to pass a criminal background check. Individuals will need to be in good health and submit to a complete physical examination. Then a two part TB screening is a requirement in addition to a blood draw to test for illegal substances.

The Workforce 1 is a place that helps people who want to become CNA’s but do not have the money. They do not accept people who have no income coming in at all because they are going to ask you to bring pay stubs and public assistance does not count. They want to help people who are trying to help themselves instead of just depending on the government. It usually takes around 3 weeks to find out whether or not you will be approved for a grant through them. If you are one of the lucky ones they will give you a grant for $2500 to cover all of your CNA training costs.

This community center offers a free 22 week CNA training class which also insures that they will help you land a job as a CNA after it is successfully completed. In order to enroll into the class you must have your id card, social security card, pay stubs or some other form of income verification, address verification, and have a reading level that is at least at the 6th grade. They even have other classes available after you complete the CAN classes that can land you higher paying jobs.

Free training program with guaranteed employment after certification. They have a trainee position available at the moment. You will need to fulfill their application process to be eligible for the position. You will get paid while training and a higher salary upon completion and certification.

Free CNA training can be obtained through Elderwood for individuals who are accepted for employment as a CNA. In order to be accepted, an individual will need to submit an application. A screening process will take place as well, including a criminal background check. Workforce Investment Act Approved CNA Training in New York

A 130 hour nursing assistant training course is offered through the Continuing Education Department of York College. This college will provide students with extensive training. They will receive lecture and other classroom instruction. Lab studies will also be provided. Students must also gain hands on experience with their CNA internship. You should contact your career force or one stop career center if you are current unemployed. There could be WIA training benefits available to you. There is certainly the possibility that such benefits could be used for the CNA course at York College.
