California Free Home Health Aide Training Classes

Free home health aide training in California is possible if you know where to look. Because of the increased the number of Home health aides are needed to meet the needs of changing demographics of California more places are continuing to offer free home health aide training.  Once an individual has taken and passed the final test they are placed on the California Home Health Aide Registry.

REQUIREMENTS
Before entering the program, students must:
Comply with state requirements that may involve a criminal background check and completion of a training program meeting federal content requirements.
Complete the core curriculum with passing scores on all written and performance tests.
Meet basic academic requirements in math and reading.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Register with the state regulatory authority.

Students who wish to further develop their skills and employment options, working with homebound individuals and assisted living facilities, should take this 4-week course to become a State-certified HHA. The CNA and HHA classes can be completed together in one semester.

Student Eligibility and Requirements:
All students are eligible to participate in these FREE, noncredit classes. Admission to the IHSS program is granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
