Finding free home health aide training for students in New Jersey, should be hard. Students have a few options to make the decision from in the state. The Home health care agencies, Job corps and the workforce Investment Act offer opportunities to receive funds to help cover the cost so that you may receive your home health aide training for free in New Jersey to those who qualify.
Some home health agencies have been known to offer courses for free to new or prospective home health aides. Several of the agencies that offer courses, will often require that you become an employee of theirs for a particular amount of time upon having received your HHA certification. You will need to make certain that the agency that is offering these free classes is approved by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. Once the courses have been finished, the classes or agency where you completed educational classes will then present your certification application to the Board of Nursing for approval.
The Certification for HHAs in New Jersey must cover 76 hours minimum. The 76 hours in total, which includes classroom instruction that must consist of 60 hours and 16 hours of clinical education in a skills laboratory or patient care setting.
