Home Health Aide
Oregon home health aide training will teach the students instruction in bedside nursing skills, basic restorative skill, mental health skills and social service requests, personal care skills, and communications.

The state of Oregon defines a home health aide as a person who is certified as a nursing assistant by the Oregon State Board of Nursing in accordance with OAR chapter 851, division 062 and those who assists licensed nursing personnel in providing home health services.

Home Health aides in Oregon perform housekeeping duties such as cooking, cleaning, washing clothes or dishes or taking care of errands, transport clients to appointment that are located outside the home, such as to physicians’ offices, provide companionship, and information regarding that of client’s rights.

The Oregon Home Health Aide Training is skills-based training with emphasis on many areas that may include communication skills, proper body mechanics, assist clients with ADLs, fire prevention and safety, hospice care services, and the self-care for the caregiver.
