We encourage those looking to become a CNA in Illinois to apply for  scholarships in the state as a way to decrease their student loan debt. The best advice that students can follow when searching the web for scholarships is to allow yourself plenty of time. 

Many of students looking to become a Certified Nursing Assistant are recent high school graduates. Several others are non-traditional students attending college later in life, many making a career change while working and raising a family. Each year, thousands of students receive scholarships to help cover the cost of CNA training. Over 90 percent of students qualify for some form of financial aid.

The Black Hawk College East Foundation has two scholarships for students who want to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.

The two $500 scholarships are the Barbara Curran Golby CNA Scholarship, in memory of long-time nursing assistant instructor Barbara Curran Golby, and the Black Hawk College East Foundation CNA Scholarship.
